During the last few decades a lot of filling-up materials have been developed; which can be given simply by injection. These materials are effective at thickening narrow lips, smoothing the wrinkles that are caused by passing time simply by changing the face’s contour. Spectacular results can be reached simply by injecting these materials and after a short ambulant treatment the patient is able to go home.  Side effects and complications occur very rarely, there is no need for after-care, the normal course of life can be continued and work-time hasn’t to be missed.

Treatment by injection can be used on different places of the face.

2. Smiling wrinkles.

3. At the outer eye-nooks, on the side, apparent crow’s feet. /at special cases /

4. The wrinkles in older ages, fine wrinkles around the lower and upper lips.

5. Lifting of acne or otherwise created sunken scars.

6. Smaller unevenness at the bank of nose.

7. Lip thickening.

8. The lower edges of trench of eyes.

9. The jaw’s tip.

Materials with temporary effects. Their effect last only ½-1 year long and will have to be repeated.

Collagens: RESOPLAST, ZYDERM, ZYPLAST. These are albumins subtracted from animal skin. As they are effective only for 2-4 months long the risk of an allergic side effect is higher, and nowadays when new and more up-to-date materials have been found their application has become less common.

Hyaluronacid: RESTYLANE, PERLANE, ROFILAN, REVIDERM, HYLAFORM These are produced by bacteriological fermentation as a big molecule-weight, sugar-like compound which also can be found in the human skin. These don’t contain animal’s albumins. Their advantage is that none of them contain artificially made materials. The possibility of lasting difficulties is exceedingly small. The treatment is always made in the right measure. The disadvantage of this system is that it has to be repeated yearly.

Productions with permanent long lasting effect: This are synthetic or mixed with natural material compounds.

POLIMETYLMETHACRYLAT pmma: ARTECOLL: This product contains small acrylat pearls in microscopic proportions. These are soluted in a collagen carrier material. After the carrying material is absorbed, the pearls are forced, in the area of the injection, to multiply cells. The result will also be guaranteed by the growing of the patient’s own connecting tissues. In some cases the treatment has to be repeated after the first treatment, in three months time.

HYDROXYMETYLMETHACRILAT. DERMALIVE: In hyaluronacid mixed synthetic fragmentums the mechanism of function is similar to Artecoll.

SILICON OIL. Until recently this was the only product that gave permanent results and was able to be given by injection. Later synthetic products have spread widely and their use has now replaced silicon oil. Although its price is low using it could produce lots of problems. Such as: / Skin inflammation, the creation of a touchable lump, the possibility of the input material’s wandering towards the lymphatic glands. / The treatment of these problems is complicated, sometime even it’s removal is hard to do. It is forbidden to use this product in the USA and also in some European countries, In Hungary some years ago; this product was granted on ORKI license together with other silicon products.

POLYACRYAMID productions: AQUAMID, OUTLINE, BIO-ALCAMID: These are new products. More and more experiences have been gained about them.

The length of effectiveness of a product must be taken into consideration together with the fact, that the human face changes with the passing of time. Wrinkles and folds might rearrange and so the products given today can later generate a disadvantageous appearance. Significantly filled lips at the age of 20-30 might be attractive, but later, after 20-30 years they could turn into a grotesque or ridiculous feature. From this point of view absorbing materials are although more expensive, the most advantageous.

The above-mentioned materials are introduced by a very thin needle, with injection technique into the treated area. If local anesthesia is needed before the treatment, we place this on an adhesive tape with anesthetic cream. This cream has to remain for 1-2 hours long on the skin before the treatment, where about 70-80 % insensibility can be reached. Before lip filling we produce an anesthetic blockade similar to the dentist’s. The duration of intervention is 10-40 minutes long, depending on the area. The effect appears at once but a smaller swelling might occur. Swelling may be bigger after the lip’s filling up, sometimes red or yellow colouring takes place because of a slight hemorrhage. It’s absorption needs 1-2 weeks. So the real result of this intervention can be seen only a week after and until that point smaller unevenness may occur. After filling the area of the mouth the stronger mouth movement such as speaking or laughing, etc should be avoided. During the treatment there might occur a mild flush on the treated place, or slight ache, perhaps some colouring of skin and itching. These symptoms cease generally in 12-48 hours time.

Complications occur only very seldom. Sometimes in a few percent of cases small hump can be felt. This occurs very rarely but could be very discomforting even at biting or kissing. There is only one in a thousand possibility of an allergic reaction, which might cause local skin swelling, inflammation of skin, reddening or stronger reactions. These effects need after-care.
It is also possible, although not common that effect of products may not be permanent for example the material absorbs faster. Depends on personal peculiarities.
If the patient has recently suffered from herpes there is the risk of getting a new outbreak, because of the needle prick. Aspirin or other similar drugs may cause bleeding, or hemorrhage at the pricked area.

We propose the following guidelines.
No pushing the treated area within two days time. Avoid too much speaking or laughing.
Only after 1-2 days may the treated area be washed, even with soap. Make-up should not be worn.
Until the first reddening and swallowing cease, don’t let the treated area close to strong warm radiation, solarium, or to cold environments.
Don’t make permanent lip-contouring or tattoos after lip thickening, sooner than one-month time.

We don’t propose any treatment:
In special cases, when the patient is allergic to the LIDOCAIN.
If skin illness, exists or herpes is present.
In serious allergic cases.
In autoimmune diseases.
Usage of anticoagulant drugs. / Aspirin, Heparin, Sincumar etc./
